Dokolo District Local Government is one of the new districts approved by the Parliament of the Republic of Uganda in 2005. The district became operational on 1st July, 2006. The mother district of Lira offered significant support towards the start of Dokolo District through secondment of staff and sharing of assets to mention just a few. As mandated by law(s), the district embarked on the formulation of the Three Year District Development Plan 2006/07 – 2008/09 to act as a basis for service delivery. This development plan is therefore the rolled version of the first development plan.
